Gatwick airport parking firm wins award for second year

Monday, 9th August 2010

Gatwick meet and greet parking company Help-me-park has again won the prestigious Park Mark award from the Safer Parking Scheme. This is the second year in a row Help-me-park has won the award, which requires the firm to meet the stringent safety standards set by the Safer Parking Scheme.

The winning of this award reaffirms the promise initially showed by Help-me-park when it was awarded its first Park Mark recognition only one year after the company opened its London Gatwick parking facility in 2008. The Gatwick facility boasts an enviable crime-free record over the last 12 months.

The Park Mark award is controlled by the Safer Parking Scheme and is an initiative originally proposed by the Association of Chief Police Officers. The award is intended to help reduce crime in car parks by giving motorists confidence that their cars will be safe and secure when parked in a facility carrying the award.

Gaining Park Mark recognition requires a car parking facility to be inspected by the Police, who rate the security measures put in place at the car park. A successful inspection requires operators to have implemented all reasonable measures to deter anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.
