Travellers using the Newcastle Airport car park facilities will be able book parking spaces online in advance.Passengers can manage their car parking requirements by booking online using Newcastle Airport’s system created by website developer Chauntry.
The airport’s car parking business manager, George Nesbitt, said to the Moodie Report: "The system provides us with a more user-friendly and operationally efficient system, with immense flexibility and functionality enabling us to offer an improved service to our customers."
The online facility is known as Parkspace, and in addition to providing booking convenience to travellers, it also helps reduce the amount of time passengers spend from arriving at the parking facility to the airline check-in counter.
Chauntry’s managing director, Theresa Hughes, said of the website design: "I'm delighted with the success of Newcastle's pre-booking project. We could see that they had a real desire to do more with their parking operation, and that Parkspace was the only solution that gave them the tools they needed."
For 2007, Newcastle Airport reported £17.7 million in pre-tax profits, which was an increase of 80 per cent on the previous year.
