A recent survey found Gatwick to have the best parking options

Travelrobe, one of the leading travel companies in the UK, has recently completed a study naming Gatwick Airport as one of the best places to park. Not only does the airport offer excellent public transportation, but the parking facilities are reasonably priced and convenient.

The study assumed that most travelers would be commuting to the airport from central London with their partner and two children. The total cost of travelling to the airport on the Gatwick Express was £86.40 return (or £138 first class). For many, especially those who needed to take a bus or underground to get to the Gatwick Express or who had to carry heavy luggage on the way, the Gatwick Express was not the most convenient means of transportation.

While those surveyed said that taxis were much more convenient, they were also much pricier. A pre-arranged taxi from a local car rental company from central London cost, on average £45.00 one way, while a black metered taxi cab cost as much as £70.00 each way.

Driving to the airport and paying for parking there is both convenient and economical, according to the survey. Two weeks with the Gatwick Summer Special in a car park starts at £78.40. Off-airport parking is even less expensive and is being offered for as low as £51.20 for the same two weeks during the summer.
