Traffic flow at Gatwick should improve under new management

Gatwick Airport, which has had many traffic problems in the past, particularly around the parking lot areas, has hired a new company to take responsibility for marshalling traffic around the airport.

Vinci Park was awarded the contract by Gatwick airport and is charged with improving the flow of traffic around the airport as will as increasing the level of security in terms of cars and traffic.

For the most part, Vinci Park is expected to focus on the perimeter roads and forecourts around Gatwick Airport, but the new services should improve conditions for those using airport parking facilities and the short term drop off zone. Overall, Vinci Park is expected to improve accessibility to the terminal buildings at Gatwick, an important service considering that passenger numbers at the airport continue to climb steadily.

Fraser Brown, head of commercial transport at Gatwick Airport, said: "The safety and security of our passengers remains our number one priority.

"The new team of marshals will provide valuable support to the traffic wardens in maintaining the flow of traffic through our forecourts. By moving on any parked vehicles and freeing up valuable drop-off bays, delays for passengers will be kept to a minimum," he said.
