The North Somerset Council is serving notices to illegal parking operations near BristolTravellers leaving their vehicles in unauthorized car parks near Bristol International Airport should be wary this week, as North Somerset Council is continuing a crack down on parking lot violators in the area.
Parking lot operators have been continuing to appeal to the council, which served them enforcement notices earlier this month, and 14 appeals have been dismissed or withdrawn.
The enforcement notices demand that the owners of any piece of land unauthorized for parking must remove all vehicles which are not related to agriculture from the site and cease using the land for parking.
The problem is a prevalent and reoccurring one, according to the council. Their figures indicate that in the last four years, they have had to serve a total of 27 such enforcement notices and close 41 sites.
This year, ten people have been fined a total of £135,000. The council is continuing to monitor another 11 sites and has stated that it will not hesitate to take action against them in the future if required.
The majority of unauthorized parking sites offer parking for less than authorized sites and usually operate their own shuttle bus to the terminal.
