Bus alternative to Stansted parking

A new bus service between Stansted Airport and Ipswitch will come into service as of this May, saving the hassle and expense of parking at the airport. The route will represent the only means to travel between the two locations by public transport, and will be operated by Excel Coaches, a company based in Stansted, departing every two hours.

Parking at Stansted Airport can be a pricy affair, and this rote comes after much public demand for alternate means of travel to the airport. The percentage of passengers travelling to airports by coach has been on the rise for the past many years. In 2001, the percentage of passengers connecting to airports by public transport in the UK was 7.6%. This number has increased to 19% in 2007.

Stansted’s schedule has also expanded to serve 50 cities in the UK with over 550 scheduled commercial flights. The new coach service starting on May 1st will cost £15 one-way, with a return trip costing £20. The journey will take 1 hour and 15 minutes.
