Greer Aviation targeted by activists

The United Kingdom activist group, ‘Plane Stupid’, is not afraid to get out and ruffle some feathers. They were initiates at the protests last year over the expansion of Heathrow, and their latest disturbance took place in Edinburgh, Scotland, to speak out against the use of private jets at the airport.

There were roughly 20 people protesting against Greer Aviation, carrying signs proclaiming ‘This Planet has o emergency exits’. Some protesters chained themselves to the doors of the aviation company’s building, while two more climbed on to the roof. A spokeswoman for the activist group proclaimed, 'The majority of aviation growth stems from the demand of the wealthiest 10%, and this is why we target private jet use. It's not our intention to single out Greer Aviation as a company, but to make a wider point to highlight the fact that private jet use is incompatible with our duties to protect the planet from climate change.'

While Greer’s airport parking was set loose upon, the building itself was far enough away from the terminal not to disrupt any passengers.
