A website problem led to huge delays for passengers collecting their cars.Problems with the website of Manchester Airport car park disrupted travels for some 1000 passengers last week.
The owner of the car park said the BCP website was accepting customer bookings even after the entire facility was full. Many passengers expecting to have a convenient reservation with the Manchester Airparks Meet and Greet Airport Parking facility were instead sent along to the regular airport car parks.
Other passengers faced larger problems, particularly delays in picking up their vehicles when returning from a trip. One man was forced to find another way home and subsequently waited 55 hours before being able to collect his car. Others were also met with waiting times of at least five hours.
Passengers affected by these inconveniences are eligible to receive compensation for extra costs and eight days of free parking from BCP owner Holiday Extras.
