Record snows have led to record parking for Meteor Meet and Greet Parking ServicesThis year, Meteor Meet & Greet Parking is celebrating a huge snowfall in Europe, an early start to the ski season and record number of bookings in the pre-Christmas period.
Last month, a large snow storm swept across the eastern Alps, depositing over a meter of snow in some areas. The Austrian resort Kitzbuhel was the first to open, but resorts in Italy, France and Switzerland quickly followed suit.
The director of sales and marketing for Meteor, Steve Waller, said: 'The weather conditions has led to an improvement in early season bookings as many ski enthusiasts have seen the snow and decided to hit the slopes sooner and book before Christmas to make the most of the superb skiing conditions. In terms of bookings we have seen a 58% increase compared to last year, some of which is thanks to the early snowfall and is also due to an increase in awareness of meet and greet parking as a perfect add-on for travel agents to sell to skiers.'
Meet and greet parking services are often preferred by skiers and snowboarders who are traveling with a lot of equipment and baggage. Rather than waste time looking for parking miles from the airport and lugging bags on a transfer bus, Meteor Meet and Greet allows travelers to park their car right in front of the airport terminal.
Meteor staff are on hand at the terminal buildings at Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham to assist with luggage and chauffeur cars to the company's secure parking facilities. One phone call upon landing and the car is on its way back to the terminal, ready and waiting for tired travelers.
