Q-Park recenty sold five off-site airport parking lots to Holiday ExtrasBCP was recently sold to Holiday Extras for an undisclosed sum. As a result of the sale, Holiday Extras will assume responsibility for the management of Q-Park's off-site airport parking lots at five locations in the UK.
Holiday Extras will use the new parking lots to build on one of their core markets: airport parking. Although the company already offers deals at airports around the country, they will now manage car parks just outside airports at Heathrow, Glasgow, Gatwick, Manchester and Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Q-Park says the sale will allow it to focus more strongly on real estate and build on its core market of parking in city centers, health care facilities and railway stations.
According to Holiday Extra's CEO, Stephen Lawrence and Q-Park's chairman of the executive board, Ward Vleugels, the sale of BCP to Holiday Extras was "compelling for both businesses because they could both focus on their strengths".
Holiday Extras was founded in 1983 and provides airport parking and hotel packages at discounted rates. The company has a price guarantee which offers a refund or to match the lower cost if one is found for an identical service within a week of booking.
