New technology makes reserving parking at Dublin Airport quick and easy.Since the last thing any traveler who is heading to the airport wants is to wait in any more lines than necessary, QuickPark at Dublin Airport has added a new feature to its website which allows parkers to skip queues and go directly to their pre-reserved parking stall.
The new system allows drivers to reserve a car spot in the airport parking lot in advance, guaranteeing that they save time and hassle when they head to the airport.
The technology was developed by a ParkMagic, an Irish company known for their developments in wireless and mobile payment systems.
Co-founder and chief executive officer at ParkMagic, Paul Fitzgerald said that the new technology would bring in up to 30 per cent of the entire car parking market at Dublin Airport.
'This new technology is generating a lot of interest among car park operators in Ireland and we are seeing significant interest in the system with UK and US operators,' he said.
The new section of the website takes only moments to use and saves precious time at the airport. Travelers use a credit or debit card to book their space in advance and must enter a few personal details, and the dates and times they will be parking. Once the booking has been made, travelers are issued with a pin-code.
Upon arriving at the QuickPark at the airport, customers enter their pin-code on a keypad and use the same numbers to exit the car park.
QuickPark's managing director, John O'Sullivan explained the driving forces behind developing the new technology: 'Air travel has become much more stressful for both the business and leisure traveler and time is often of the essence for passengers arriving at Dublin Airport. We wanted a system which would reduce this stress and would provide an improved service for our customers.'
He concluded: 'You can book your seat on the airplane in advance, check-in in advance and even book your luggage in advance so why not your car parking space?'
