Next generation electronics on new 787sThe race for dominance in the emerging market for the new generation superjumbo jets between Boeing and Airbus is still gong strong, with each trying to get one step ahead of one another. The Airbus A380 is currently jetting around Asia to prove airports can handle its girth and heft, while the latest news from the Boeing side is that is has chosen electronics leader Panasonic to install the entrainment systems on the Dreamliner.
The system is called the eX2 in-flight entertainment system and will be a step up form anything Boeing has offered before when they ship the first ten 787 Dreamliners to China Southern Airlines next year.
Passengers will be able to enjoy over 50 applications form their seat with their own personal screen and vast improvements in storage space for games and movies. China Southern Airlines will be the first airline in China to boast the new jets with the advanced entertainment system from Panasonic.
