UK airport lounges rank among the world's best in a Telegraph list published recently

A global list of the top airport lounges has placed three British locations among the worlds most luxurious. The list was compiled by Jeffrey Mills, a well known travel writer who published his findings in a recent edition of the Telegraph.

Three British flight lounges were ranked as some of the world's best places to relax in between long flights or to prepare for a long flight ahead, mostly due to their high class facilities and the services available in each.

Massages, internet access, spa treatments and gourmet cuisine are some of the offerings from the top lounges in the UK, named by Mills as the First Class Concorde Room lounge and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow, and the British Airways Terraces at Gatwick.

According to Mills the Concorde Room has staff that are "professional, well presented and charming." Meanwhile, in the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse you can find "virtually everything you could possibly want, including big screen TVs broadcasting business news".

Other lounges highlighted in the top ten included Lufthansa's lounge in Frankfurt, the Emirates' lounge in Dubai and Cathay Pacific's lounge in Hong Kong.
