Humberside director talks of growth

Wednesday, 24th August 2005

The managing director of Humberside Airport has hinted that there may be a positive future ahead for the airport, with many new routes on the way.

Rob Goldsmith told the Yorkshire Post that the flights would not be focused on just one sector but would provide a range of choices from charter, scheduled and low-cost carriers.

Airport growth could possible see an extension of airport services such as car parking and airport accommodation.

Humberside has ample and inexpensive open air, perimeter fenced car parking on four sites close to the terminal building.

Short stay parking is available in Car Park 1, whilst longer stay parking is available in Car Parks 2 and 3 and 4.

'We hope to attract services back to Croatia, but nothing has been agreed as yet. We have just secured Fuerteventura in the last few days, operated by Thomas Cook, Thomson and Airtours,' said Mr Goldsmith.

This comes on the back of last month's announcement that gives those flying from Humberside a choice of nine new sun and beach destinations including Malaga and Lanzarote.

For customers using the airport car parking, Humberside is easily accessed by road. The Airport is on the A18, located three miles from Junction 5 on the M180, which links the airport with the M18, M62, M1 and A1.
