Stansted enhances airport security
Tuesday, 23rd August 2005
Stansted Airport is to improve its airport security, which will further reassure travellers going away for the coming bank holiday weekend.
Improvements are to be made at the Security Search area and every effort has been made to implement them in time for the August bank holiday.
Travellers using Stanstead Airport can take advantage of the excellent customer services the airport boasts.
Extensive car parking, numerous airport hotels, a range of shops and services are just some of the facilities on offer.
To save time at the airport, holidaymakers and business executives can pre-book car parking online, which should guarantee them a space if the airport is busy.
Stansted's security changes include moving bags away from the x-ray machine when searching them to keep the screening process flowing and the queues moving faster.
'People travelling through Stansted will now experience a faster flowing Central Search, earlier engagement with security staff and reduced queuing times that will improve their overall flying experience,' said Dave Jefcott, security service delivery manager for BAA Stansted.
The airport will now be able to handle 4,500 passengers every hour at peak times.
