BA changes routes at Manchester

Friday, 12th August 2005

British Airways (BA) has announced it is scrapping eight routes from Manchester Airport, and replacing them with eight brand-new destinations.

CitiExpress, the business travel arm of BA, will no longer serve Venice, Rome, Cork, Pisa, Nice, Zurich and Shannon and instead will fly to Paphos, Arecife, Las Palmas, Dubrovnik, Marrakesh and Tenerife.

Manchester Airport is easily accessed by road, and there is ample car parking for customers wanting somewhere safe to park while they are away.

Booking airport parking as part of holiday arrangements saves time and usually money at the airport, meaning that customers only have to worry about making their flights.

Steve Cassidy, commercial director of BA CitiExpress, told the Manchester Evening News: 'We have had a good look at the business and our routes and decided on these changes.'

He added that the new flights were more leisure focused as the main business routes travelled were to London, Milan, Paris, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt.

Good news then for Brits jetting off on holiday!
