Tuesday, 9th August 2005
British Airways has announced that four new routes to Europe are to be introduced from London Gatwick next summer.
The UK-based airline has launched an inaugral service to Albania and Iceland and also added new flights to Bulgaria and Turkey.
Gatwick Airport is easily accessed by road, and travellers thinking of driving to Gatwick can book their parking online before they fly.
Just 28 miles from London and Brighton by road, the journey to Gatwick can be even quicker as pre-booking parking usually guarantees customers a space.
BA has said that flights to Tirana, Albania's capital, will commence on March 27th 2006, with prices from £205 return, while flights to the Icelandic capital Reykjavik start next March 26th, costing from £149 return.
The airline also announced that flights to Varna, on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, will start operating on March 29th 2006, with prices from £149 return, and journeys to Izmir, Turkey's third largest city, are to begin on March 26th, with prices starting from £149 return.
'We believe these new routes will attract holiday-makers who are looking for new, exciting destinations to visit, as well as business customers, friends and relatives travelling to and from the UK,' said Alan Burnett, British Airways head of UK & Ireland sales and marketing.
Gatwick is a ten minute drive from the M25, which connects the airport the UK's motorway network. The airport boasts ample parking facilities to store cars while away.
