Glasgow Airport welcomes new walkway

Friday, 5th August 2005

Glasgow Airport has invited Leo Jones, star of ITV's Airline series, to open its brand new walkway.

The walkway links the airports main terminal to T2, where budget carriers operate, and is part of a £40 million extension and refurbishment programme. It makes the airport experience, from driving and parking at the airport, to navigating the airport itself, much more easy.

Stephen Baxter, managing director of Glasgow Airport, has praised the new walkway.

He said: 'The new link is a real improvement and has proved very popular with holidaymakers this summer.'

The new walkway means passengers using the airport parking can more easily move from the main terminal to T2 and on to their flights.

With the new walkway, easyJet has also started its tenth anniversary celebrations at the airport.

Mr Jones told easyJet: 'It is fitting that we kick off our tenth birthday celebrations here in Glasgow, where it all began, with the opening of a new facility for our passengers.

Glasgow Airport is officially the busiest airport in Scotland with 8 million passengers heading to around 90 destinations.

Parking at the airport is easy with car parks just minutes from the main terminal.
