Ryanair ventures to Poland

Thursday, 4th August 2005

Ryanair has announced it will be expanding its operations to Poland, beginning with two to three new connections this year and then hoping to increase flights by two to three per day.

'Twelve months ago I was of an opinion that flying to Poland does not make sense. I have changed my mind,' said Michael O'Leary, managing director of Ryanair.

Ryanair currently flies from various airports around the UK, including Aberdeen, Blackpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Glasgow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Liverpool and Manchester. Good value, safe care parking is offered at these airports, and it can be pre-booked online for hassle-free journeys.

Mr O'Leary added that even if passenger numbers did not live up to expectations, the carrier will not withdraw from Poland, good news for customers regularly wanting to travel to the country.

Customers wishing to use the new service have to wait until later in year before it is launched, giving them time to make other travel arrangements in advance such as airport parking and airport hotels.

Ryanair is also considering making its main base in Poland, but further details on this plan are not yet available.
