Ryanair profits soar
Tuesday, 2nd August 2005
Europe’s leading low-cost airline Ryanair today posted a leap in quarterly profits, lifted by greater passenger numbers.
The Irish carrier said that net profit for the quarter to the end of June beat expectations, rising by 21 per cent from last year’s levels to over £44 million, suggesting that as airports become busier, customers should book airport services such as car parking in advance.
Ryanair's sales revenues were also on the up at nearly £280 million, as the numbers of passengers the airline carried rose by 30 per cent, to 8.5 million. Pre-booking parking at airports will usually guarantee customers a space, which is particularly useful at busy airports. Ryanair forecasts that 35 million people will fly with it by the year’s end and the carrier flies from many airports across the UK including: Aberdeen, Blackpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester and Stansted.
All airports boast excellent customer facilities, counting extensive parking facilities and impressive hotel accommodation.
