The nearest of London's airports to the city centre, London City Airport is ideal for business travellers and it handles about two million passengers per year on flights to major UK and European destinations. The sole terminal is easily navigable and offers ample amenities and services.

Terminals Check-In and Arrival at London City Airport

On entering the two-storey North Terminal, the check-in counters are situated to the right. The Arrivals area is also located nearby, with Departures situated upstairs. Several domestic airlines serve LCY, including British Airways and City Jet as well as other European carriers such as Air France, KLM and Lufthansa. Both floors have ATMs, banks and moneychangers, and the airport also offers a left luggage/lost property service and a post office.

Shopping, eating and business facilities at London City

The main hall in Departures has several shops on both sides of security, including confectioners, bookstores and newsagents. Duty-free outlets are also located in Departures and travellers leaving the Euro zone can shop tax-free.

Numerous restaurants and bars serve London City Airport, from fast-food outlets and full-service establishments such as the Meridian Line Restaurant and the Coffee Corner to the Tapas Bar. Outlets of Bewley's Coffee shop and speciality store can be found on both sides of security.

The Meridian Business Centre on the first floor offers excellent facilities including telephone, fax and photocopying services as well as a conference room that can accommodate 80 people. Refreshments and internet access are available here as well as at other parts of the airport.

Located adjacent to the terminal building, the Short-Term Car Park is well positioned for picking up and dropping off passengers. Long-term parking is also located close by and valet services are free except for parking fees. To qualify for long-term parking, the period in which you are leaving your vehicle must include a Saturday. There are spaces especially reserved for disabled drivers at both car parks.

Getting into the city of London City

Public and private transport options from the airport include trains, buses, shuttles, limousines and taxis. Docklands Light Railway trains connect the airport with Canning Street Station, the closest London Underground station. Shuttle buses run to major destinations such as Canary Wharf and Liverpool Street Station, departing from outside the terminal building every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends. London black cabs are available from directly outside the terminal building, while several chauffeur limousine services are also available, including Royal Silver Service, ChauffeurExec and Grosvenor Carriages. Alternatively, six car rental companies operate from the airport.
