Terminals Check-In and Arrival at Glasgow Airport
The single terminal facility manages all flights, with Check-in, Domestic Arrivals and International Arrivals all situated on the ground floor. The bulk of the airport's facilities are located on the first floor of the terminals building, with some amenities on the ground floor on the main councourse. Nearby short-term and long-term parking options are available.
Shopping, eating and business facilities at Glasgow
The airport has a good selection of shopping options including duty-free shopping on the first floor of the terminal as well as clothing, jewellery, book and travel accessory stores. There are also a number of Scottish souvenirs and speciality products available.
Dining options can be found throughout the terminal, with outlets including McDonald's, Costa, Garfunkel's and the 24-hour Weavers Café, while the J&R Tennant's pub serves alcohol.
Business travellers can head to the business workstation located on the first floor concourse, where telephone and fax facilities are available. Additional facilities include bureaux de change, ATMs and a post office.
Parking and drop off at Glasgow
Glasgow International Airport offers both long-term and short-term parking. Short-term parking is located within walking distance of the terminal, while long-term parking is located slightly farther away, with regular shuttle buses transporting passengers to and from the car park to the terminal. The long-stay car park is suitable for both short and long stays, but the minimum charge is for one day of parking therefore those who want to leave their vehicles for a matter of hours should use the short-stay facility which is located close to the terminal.
Getting into the city of Glasgow
Options for getting into the city are plentiful, with a choice of taxis, trains, buses and rental cars all available. The airport does not have a direct rail connection, but the nearest rail station is situated only two miles away in Paisley, from where frequent connections to Glasgow Central Station, Ayr and destination along the Clyde Coast and can be made.
Shuttle buses to the city are operated by Airport Express and Scottish Citylink and they depart every 15 minutes at peak time and every 30 minutes at all other times; the journey typically takes 20 minutes. A more conveneint but expensive alternative is to take a taxi from directly outside the terminal. The airport is also accessible via the M8 motorway via Junction 28.
