Terminals Check-In and Arrival at Edinburgh Airport
This one-terminal facility is divided into two levels. International and domestic check-in counters are located on the ground floor at the front of the terminal building. The Arrivals Hall also sits on the ground floor, while both Departures lounges are located on the first floor along with the airport's dining and shopping options.
Shopping, eating and business facilities at Edinburgh
Edinburgh Airport's shopping options are extensive. Bookstores, retail outlets and confectionery stores sit on both sides of security. Duty-free outlets in the Departures lounges sell electronics, gifts, alcohol and tobacco. Currency exchange and ATMs are both available.
A variety of restaurants and cafs together with two bars offer extensive dining options at the airport. Granada Food Village, Village Grill, Burger King, Jenner's, JD Wetherspoon and Franklins of Boston are all located on the first floor.
Internet access is available throughout the airport, while British Midland, British Airways and Servisair all offer executive lounges with computer, fax and telephone facilities. There is no conference centre at Edinburgh Airport; however, the Hilton Edinburgh Airport hotel can facilitate conferences for up to 220 people.
Parking and drop off at Edinburgh
Edinburgh Airport's five-storey car park accommodates up to 2,000 vehicles. This car park, as well as a nearby surface parking area, offers parking for up to 2 hours for pick-ups and drop-offs as well as longer blocks of time for business patrons and other short-term travellers. The Long-Stay Car Park is reserved for vehicles staying 4 or more days. A courtesy transfer service departs for the terminal every 10 minutes from stand 17. NCP also offers long-stay options at a facility outside of the airport's ground on Eastfield road. A 10-minute ride on a courtesy shuttle carries passengers to the terminal. Vehicles displaying a disabled persons' badge may park in designated spaces and airport staff can offer assistance if needed. A ticket is taken upon entry to the car parks and patrons can pay by cash or credit upon exit. Parking can be pre-booked online.
Getting into the city of Edinburgh
A taxi rank is located outside the UK Arrivals Hall and a ride into the city centre takes between 20 and 30 minutes. Express bus number 100 also runs to and from the city centre every 15 minutes. Bus N22 runs the same route at night. An Airsaver ticket covers a single fare into the city in addition to unlimited citywide travel on all LRT buses. Several hotel shuttle buses depart from bays 3 and 6 in front of the terminal. There is no direct train service although express service 100 carries passengers to Edinburgh Waverly and Haymarket stations, where travel can be booked to other UK destinations.
